Your Story

You don’t have to travel far to experience the Wander Effect. It’s just something that happens. You know what I’m talking about, the desire to get outside, to break free, to experience, or to reconnect. It births creativity, and inspires us. It’s what makes us feel alive and free! And each of us express that uniquely.

People are so creative, but there is more to the story than just the product. Who is the person behind the lens, the pen, or paint brush? What’s their story! Why do they live the way they do? Why do they create and explore? What inspires them? We want to give a glimpse into the lives of these artists, adventures, and wanderers. To give a little more than just beautiful images.

What to Write?

What you write is up to you. We don’t want you to tell us what we want to hear. Just be you, that’s all we ask. It’s not about you having the coolest creatives on the planet, it’s about working through why you love creating(what ever that means). The process, the discovery, coming into yourself and knowing/learning what direction you want your life to go. We don’t expect you to have it all figured out, we just want to know where you are at, where you are going, and why. If that makes sense?

A good place to start is…Why? Why do you do what you do? Then you might move on to questions like: What inspires you? What’s the hardest part? To what end? And maybe something personal like Are you happy? Are you frustrated? Do you feel fulfilled? Most importantly we want you to be honest. It’s not a competition, the best you can be is you.

The most important thing is that you have fun.

What we need

  1. 600-800 words about you
  2. At least 8 Photos or Videos of your work
  3. A self portrait (or a portrait if it’s too hard)

The Self Portrait

People want to see you! Self portraits can be awkward especially if you’ve never taken one but they are a good practice. Often times we may find we are our own worst critics. I say this, because I know it may be challenging for some to put themselves out there but I think this is an important part.

Don’t Try to Impress

Don’t try to give us what you think we want to see or hear. Just be you! That’s the most important thing.
